All participants do require a visa to visit Vietnam, except for few exemptions listed below.

Vietnam Visa exemption is granted to:

• • Citizens of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos for visits of 30 days at the maximum.
  • Citizens of Philippines for visits of 21 days at the maximum.
  • Citizens of Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Russia and Finland for visits of 15 days at the maximum.

Apply for a TOURIST VISA, you may use the official website to get the E-visa. The time of processing is only 3 to 4 working days to get it. You just print out the approved E-visa and present it directly to the officer at the immigration desk.

If you plan to stay Vietnam longer than a month, please either go to your nearest Vietnamese consulate or through the Internet (you will have to retrieve it on your arrival) at following websites:

• please apply for a tourist visa and get it at your nearest Vietnamese consulate
• you may apply for a tourist visa through the Internet
  • Visa on Arrival (1) www.getvisavietnam.com/
  • Visa on Arrival (2) www.myvietnamvisa.com/

This internet visa procedure is cheaper but it does take some time (~ 60 min) at the airport immigration office, depending on the queue. Do not forget to have with you 2 passport photos and USD in cash as required by the internet visa service.

Travel

There are two main international airports in Vietnam : Hanoi (Noi Bai airport : HAN) and Ho Chi Minh (Tan Son Nhut airport : SGN).
As there more flights from Ho Chi Minh to Quy nhon, it is more convenient to fly from foreign countries to Ho Chi Minh than to Hanoi.

Below is an indicative flight schedule. Please check before reservation.
Note: it is not uncommon that airlines change the flight schedule (even by more than 2h) a few weeks before departure. You should plan your trip accordingly.

The transfer should indicate clearly your name to identify the payee. Please inform the conference secretariat by fax or email that the transfer has been done. You should obtain proof of payment and hand it to the conference secretariat at the conference site. Financial support

Some limited accommodation funds may be available for any PhD students. The application form for financial support should be filled in (including a short resume) and submitted before June 15th. Additionally, a letter of recommendation should be sent to:

It will also be possible to have a short (1-2 days) tour either before or after the conference. However, this will have to be arranged directly by the participant through a local travel agency. We will provide the link for a local travel agent in the near future.
