Magnetic Field School

Origins, Effects, and Observations of Magnetic Fields in the Universe (Feb 9-15, 2020)

Purpose:

Most of the baryonic matter in the Universe is composed of ionized or partially ionized gas permeated by magnetic fields (i.e., plasma state). Magnetic fields, therefore, play a key role in its evolution. The purpose of this school is to introduce students with basic knowledge about the origin, evolution, effects of magnetic fields in astrophysics. Observational techniques to study magnetic fields will be also discussed.
