What students will learn

Quantum computing is an interdisciplinary field combining math, physics, and computer science. In the first part of the course, students will focus on developing the necessary math, quantum physics, and coding skills in the programming language Python. The second part of the course will focus on coding quantum circuits and quantum algorithms, leading to students coding on a real quantum computer (IBM Quantum Computer).

• Quantum hardware overview
• Introduction to quantum computation and algorithms
• Practice on quantum programming and execution of actual quantum computers
• Introduction to the hybrid quantum-classical algorithm (VQE)
• Advanced topics: quantum machine learning and quantum chemistry
