April 15, 2024, “THE FIRST VIETNAM INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MEDICINAL PLANTS AND NATURAL PRODUCTS (MPNP2024)” officially opened at ICISE

On the morning of April 15, 2024, “THE FIRST VIETNAM INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MEDICINAL PLANTS AND NATURAL PRODUCTS (MPNP2024)” officially opened at ICISE with nearly 120 attendees from 13 countries around the world.

The MPNP2024 Conference will mainly be focused on various aspects of medicinal plants biology at agronomy and molecular levels, the progression of plant-derived extracts, molecules, and foods as well as establishment of Vietnamese and global private-public networks.

Three important reports opened the conference with the participation of Prof. Duong Tan Nhut, Prof. Eric Gontier, and Prof. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai.

Prof. Duong Tan Nhut shared the progress of his 32-year research on Ngoc Linh Ginseng – Vietnam’s Treasured National Ginseng – At the molecular biology and plant breeding laboratory (Taynguyen Institute for Scientific Research, VAST). Prof. Eric Gontier from the Université de Picardie Jules Verne in France presented on the topic of “A “BioEcoAgro” integrated research approach for new/renew valorizations of ancient traditional medicines and today/tomorrow’s uses of plant secondary metabolites”. Last but not least, Prof. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai (University of Science, Vietnam National University, HCMC, Vietnam) gave a speech on “Opportunities and challenges in drug discovery from Vietnamese medicinal plants”.
