Summary:

On September 11, 2023, the “Science for Peace” Symposium, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Rencontres du Vietnam (France), and the ICISE Center, officially opened with the theme: “Water security and insecurity: Rebuilding peaceful coexistence with science” The symposium is scheduled to take place from September 11 to September 13, 2023.

This event serves as an academic platform to realize the vision of global unity through science for peaceful coexistence. It plays a crucial role as a dialogue platform among parliaments on topics related to the core goals of the IPU. The symposium is attended by nearly 60 delegates and parliamentarians from 18 different countries.

The symposium is honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Mr. Vu Hai Quan, Central Committee Member of the Party, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council of Binh Dinh province, along with many leaders and former leaders of Binh Dinh province, local government departments, and numerous important international delegates.

Science diplomacy is a new direction that the ICISE Center is pursuing after signing an MoU for cooperation with the IPU on May 11, 2023.
