June 30, 2025 – Opening of the “Advanced School on Quantum Topological Matters”

June 30, 2025 – Opening of the “Advanced School on Quantum Topological Matters” with the participation of nearly 40 leading scientists, young researchers, PhD and postdoctoral fellows from 10 countries: the United Kingdom, Canada, Chile, Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Singapore.
The event is organized by the Rencontres du Vietnam and the ICISE Centre, in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), and takes place from June 30 to July 5, 2025.
A major highlight of this year’s School is the presence and lectures of Professor Duncan Haldane, Nobel Prize in Physics 2016, offering participants a rare opportunity to engage directly with one of the most influential scientists in the field of quantum topological matters.
The School is also honored to welcome a distinguished panel of international lecturers, including: Prof. Dam Thanh Son, University of Chicago, USA, Dirac Medal 2018; Prof. Yoshimasa Hidaka, Kyoto University, Japan, Particle Physics Medal 2025; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bo Yang, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Dung, Institute for Basic Science (IBS), South Korea; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zi-Yang Meng, The University of Hong Kong; Assist. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Hung, Tohoku University, Japan.
This is the first advanced school in Southeast Asia dedicated to quantum topological matters. It aims to provide a comprehensive academic foundation for PhD students, young researchers, and experienced scientists who are interested in or pursuing emerging research directions in topological quantum systems.
