VIETNAM SCHOOL ON NETRINOS (VSON7)

Starts: 16 April, 2024

Ends: 16 April, 2024

Address:

Summary:

The seventh school on Neutrino physics, organized by Rencontres Du Vietnam and Neutrino group, IFIRSE with a participation of Japanese professors, will be held at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Quy Nhon, Vietnam, from July 18th – 28th, 2023. The purpose of the school is to train and attract generations of students and young physicists to follow the neutrino physics. An introductory page for the school can be found at https://ifirse.icise.vn/nugroup/vson/2023/overview.html
The school program will include a series of introductory lectures covering the fundamentals of elementary particle physics and neutrino phenomenology. A number of neutrino experiments will be presented, with a focus on methods of observing and detecting neutrinos. Furthermore, some lectures will be devoted to modern methods and new developments in neutrino physics, both theoretical and experimental. Students are encouraged to participate actively in the training sections, which include both hardware (a detector prototype with a plastic scintillator, a Multi-pixel Photon Counter, and NIM modules) and software (particle identification with Super-Kamiokande software and a neutrino event generator) practice. The language of instruction in the school will be English. During the school year, students’ accommodations and meals are fully supported.
