Dutch Nobel laureate in Physics visits Việt Nam

QUY NHƠN – Professor Gerard’t Hooft, Dutch Nobel Laureate in Physics and his wife arrived in Bình Định on Sunday afternoon. Accepting an invitation from Prof. Trần Thanh Vân, president of Rencontres du Vietnam, Prof. Hooft will attend Việt Nam’s scientific event on cosmography in the coastal city of Quy Nhơn.

PASCOS 2016 opened in Quy Nhon

International Symposium on Particles, Strings and Cosmology (PASCOS) was officially opened by the association of Rencontres du Vietnam (Meeting Vietnam) at the International Center of Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh province on July 11.

Professors Tran Thanh Van, Le Kim Ngoc awarded Friendship Order

Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan presented prestigious Friendship Order to Vietnamese French Professors Le Kim Ngoc and Tran Thanh Van at a ceremony held in Hanoi on July 8 for their outstanding contribution the country’s scientific development and childcare in Vietnam. The two professors, Tran Thanh Van and his wife Le Kim Ngoc established an Association in France to help Vietnamese children in 1970. They have returned home to organize many exchanges between Vietnamese and foreign scientists since 1993.

Nobel winners visit scientific symposium

BINH DINH (VNS)— Four American Nobel laureates arrived in central Binh Dinh Province yesterday to attend the 9th "Meeting Viet Nam" event – a scientific symposium which starts today. The illustrious foursome are Prof. George Smoot, Prof. David J. Gross, Prof. Jack Steinberger, and Prof. Sheldon Lee Glashow. They will join fellow Nobel winner Prof. Klaus von Klitzing, who arrived last Thursday, to deliver keynote speeches at the conference.
